Sometimes, we tell ourselves we’re overthinking when we may actually be trying to understand something that genuinely matters to us

There is a difference between getting trapped in a cycle of repetitive thoughts and simply giving yourself the space to process what you think and feel

Not every uncomfortable thought is an overreaction. Not every strong emotion needs to be toned down, rationalised away, or ignored

Sometimes the real issue isn’t that we think too much, it could be that we dismiss our own thoughts and feelings too quickly

We may say things like, “I’m probably making too much of this,” or “It’s not a big deal.” And perhaps sometimes that’s true. But other times, these phrases become a way of avoiding what our emotions are trying to tell us

Your feelings don’t always tell you exactly what is true, but they can tell you that something deserves your attention

So, before calling yourself an overthinker, gently ask yourself:

Am I going around in circles or am I trying to understand something I haven’t fully acknowledged yet?

Sometimes, clarity isn’t about thinking less. It may be about creating enough space to gently acknowledge what you are thinking and feeling, without judging or dismissing it.
